How Plants Affect Vastu of Your Home

Nowadays, the number of people who believe in Vastu Shastra has increased vastly. Many began to consider Vastu Shastra as an inevitable factor while constructing a house. The art of Vastu Shastra is not only related to the construction of a house but also for the plants that people grow in their homes. A vast group of people believes that the plants which they grow in or surrounding their houses, not only visually alluring but also bring unmatched prosperity.

There is no doubt, plants that are growing inside a home detoxify the air and provides better quality of air to the people who are living there. It is believed, if a person nurtures a plant at home, he plants hope, a hope for a better life. They draw peace, calmness, and welfare to their home so that Vastu Shastra recommends choosing the plants to grow in homes with paramount care and recommends keeping those in the right direction. Shastra recommends not to plant trees that attract flies, mosquitoes, serpents, worms, and many others. 

Vastu shastra also recommends removing all types of cactus, bonsai, and thorny plants because they bring negative energy or bad luck to the family. Roses have exempted from this. 

Let’s see the plants that have Vastu importance

1.Holy Basil Plant/ Tulsi

Vastu suggests planting holy basil, generally known as Tulsi, which has considered to be pure and holy. Apart from the medicinal uses, Vastu says the plant has spiritual energy that releases to its surroundings. The north, north-east, east directions should be selected for the basil plant in the house.

2. Money Plant

Money plant is the most common indoor plant nowadays due to the easiness to grow the plant. It has believed, if the plant has kept in the southeast direction of the house then it will bring wealth and prosperity. Keeping such plants inside homes give fresh air to all in the family. 

3. Lucky Bamboo Plant 

Bamboo plants believed to bring good luck and get rid of evil powers. Many believe if bamboo plants keep in the east corner of the house then it will bring health benefits. It will give you money and wealth prosperity when bamboo keeps in the southeast area of the house.

4. Jasmine Plant

Jasmine plants are very much popular in every house garden irrespective of people believe in Vastu or not, because of its smell and alluring appearance. These flowers reduce anxiety by its scent, especially during the summer season. Place the plant at the north, east, or north-east direction of the house.

5. Neem Tree

Neem tree (Azadirachta Indica) emits positive vibes on its surroundings. It has been considered to be auspicious to plant and grow neem trees in the garden because of its medicinal values for the leaves and stems. It has recommended planting a neem tree at the north-west corner of the house.  

6. Plantain Tree/ Banana Tree

The leaves of banana trees are using for many rituals and festivals that show the importance of banana leaf in the cultural aspect of every Indian. Almost all the parts of the banana are edible and have medicinal values. The east or north-east side of the house is good for the banana tree.  

7. Lemon Plants

This plant is one of the prominent Vastu plants because it cures the Vastu Dosha. South or west direction is best for the lemon plants.

8. Aloe Vera 

Though Vastu shastra advocates removing all the thorny plants for those who bring negative energy, Aloe Vera has been recommended to keep at home. The plant brings positive energy. It also absorbs carbon dioxide in large quantities and emits good quality air to its surroundings. Vastu recommends planting aloe vera in the east or north corner of the house.

9. Orchid Plants

Orchids are the embodiment of fertility and descendants. They also absorb carbon dioxide and emit oxygen back to the environment. Decorating a home with orchid can help in stress release. It also helps to keep humidity in its surroundings. The south-west corner of the house is the best spot for orchid plants in the house.
